More than 400 people at a graduation dinner in Western Santa Catarina in late Dec. were sickened with Salmonella although the suspect food has not yet been identified.
According to the director of the Health Surveillance of Santa Catarina Raquel Bittencourt, the main hypothesis is that the problem occurred because of contaminated mayonnaise.
Was the mayonnaise made from raw eggs like in Australia, or was it commercially produced, which would mean pasteurized eggs?
