I was poisoned; Elton John cancels Vegas concerts

TMZ reports Elton John had a crappy weekend after the Rocket Man came down with a nasty case of food poisoning.

E.J. was supposed to perform at Caesars Palace in Vegas this past Friday and Saturday night, but the singer had to back out when something he ate backfired.

No details on suspect food or drink or symptoms.

Food poisoning postpones Elton John’s Arizona concert

Food poisoning has apparently caused the postponement of Elton John’s scheduled concert at Tucson Arena.

The Arizona Daily Star reports that Wednesday night’s show was nearly sold out with about 8,800 tickets purchased. Organizers say the British rocker will perform Thursday night instead.

A spokeswoman for the Tucson concert venue says John apologizes for the inconvenience caused by his illness, but doctors say he will be fine to take the stage Thursday.

Live Nation and The Rose Garden said Friday that John was advised by his doctor to postpone these performances due to a serious case of e-coli bacterial infection and the flu.

No word on what kind of E. coli had stricken Mr. John or possible sources.
