Who does that? Man poops on another man in Pennsylvania road rage episode, police say

Authorities say a New Tripoli man got into an argument with another man at about 8:45 a.m. Friday and defecated on the victim.

The altercation happened in Heidelberg Township, which is about 17 miles north of Allentown.

Police did not say what sparked the fight or how it escalated.

The suspect has been charged with harassment.

‘Future’s uncertain and end is always near’ Food safety not seen as a high priority risk

Robby Kreiger is a great guitar player.

His solos for the Doors gave me chills in high school and still do.

But greatness doesn’t count in the biz world.

Food safety doesn’t count until there’s an outbreak.

Then everyone wants to cover their ass.

Surveys still suck, but according to the latest survey of 150 food and drink businesses, food safety is not seen as a priority concern in the Risk and Uncertainties statements they file with Companies House.

Duh.

Social media, dick fingers and universities

Every other day, Amy sends me an e-mail of where my previous research has been cited.

I offered to set the referral up for myself, but she seems intent, and I’m a bit dense about all things Internet.

So it’s sorta hilarious (or Alanis Morissette ironic) when I get cited in social media papers about “institutionalized discourses.”

(Anyone who writes with dick fingers, as in “institutionalized” should be immediately ignored.)

This literature review investigates how the impact of social media has been studied with regard to a broad range of higher education workplace practices, that extend beyond teaching and learning, into areas such as research, administration, professional development, and the development of shared academic cultures and practices.

Our interest is in whether and how the educational research community, through its research and publication practices, promotes particular views of social media in education at the expense of others. A thematic analysis of a sample of recent (2010-17) research on social media in education finds the field influenced by perspectives, particularly the managerial, that are prominent in the institutionalized discourses around which HE is structured.  These discourses are largely shaping practice in 21st century education, despite their lack of attention on how social media alter the processes of knowledge development within education, changing practice at deeper, institutional levels.

We hypothesize that the implication of such research failing is that the academic community fails to reflectively and critically address how academic practices and the classroom itself are being shaped by certain “institutionalized” uses and conceptions of social media.

Fear and loathing in North Carolina: Pizzeria employee suspected of putting rat poison in cheese

Joel Shannon of USA Today reports police aren’t sure what substance Ricky Lee Adami put into the cheese, but they think it was rat poison.

That’s according to a Wednesday release from Fayetteville, N.C., police who said Adami had been charged with food tampering in connection with an incident at the Primo Pizza restaurant.

Adami is charged with distributing food containing noxious/deleterious material.

No contaminated cheese was served to customers, police say.

Adami was charged after an alert manager noticed an unknown substance mixed into the shredded cheese on a pizza, police say.

The manager stopped preparing the pizza and looked up surveillance footage to determine which employee prepared the cheese, police say.

Adami has been previously convicted of multiple crimes in the 1980s and 1990s, according to public records obtained by The Charolette Observer. Among those crimes: burning a public building, multiple DWIs, and multiple breaking and enterings.

Adami is 55-years-old and was an employee at the Primo Pizza restaurant located at 2810 Raeford Road in Fayetteville, the Observer reports.

Raw is risky: Squid sperm buries into woman’s tongue

A 63-year-old woman got a nasty shock when tucking into a seafood dinner.

According to Sophie Roberts of the Daily Star, the South Korean patient sought medical attention after she consumed raw squid.

Doctors discovered that her mouth had been inseminated by the creature’s sperm, which had lodged into her tongue and gums.

A Journal of Parasitology report noted that the woman immediately knew something was wrong with the dish.

Even though she spat out the mouthful, she was still affected by the uncooked seafood.

It explained: “As soon as she put a piece into her mouth, she felt like many ‘bugs’ were biting her oral mucosa.

“She experienced severe sharp pain and spat out the entire portion without swallowing.

“Despite that, she could feel many small squirming white bug-like organisms penetrating her.”

The squid sperm acted as it would during reproduction, leading to it implanting itself into the patient’s mouth.

After seeking medical attention, the woman was believed to make a full recovery.

While this case may seem very out of the ordinary, it isn’t the first time it has happened.

In 2011, a 21-year-old woman fell victim to a similar problem after consuming the sexual organs of a raw squid.

Pathology International reported that she also suffered issues with her gums and tongue.

The study warned: “Consumption of a squid with sperm bags and an active ejaculatory apparatus can lead to unintended ejection of the sperm bag and injury to the oral mucosa.”

This whole process is actually autonomous, meaning that the squid’s sex organ is prone to firing off without any conscious decision by the squid, according to a study in the journal Zoomorphology.

Everyone’s got a camera: Brisbane’s alleged poo jogger resigns from corporate role

Australia is a special place.

And there are more public bathrooms than I’ve seen anywhere else.

The man outed as Brisbane’s alleged poo jogger has resigned from his corporate role at a leading retirement village.

Andrew Douglas Macintosh, 64, was a senior manager at one of Australia’s leading retirement village operators.

As revealed by The Courier-Mail, Mr Macintosh was charged with public nuisance after allegedly defecating on a unit block pathway in Greenslopes while on his morning run.

The alleged deed was captured on camera by a fed-up resident.

Andrew Douglas Macintosh was charged with public nuisance after Greenslopes residents snapped off a shot of a jogger defecating on their pathway.

Mr Macintosh was a national quality manager with Aveo and a member of Brisbane City Council’s Inclusive Board.

Mr Macintosh faced Holland Park Magistrates Court this week before his charge was downgraded to an infringment notice, resulting in a $378 fine.

This morning Aveo confirmed Mr Macintosh — a former director of the Retirement Village Association of Australia — had now resigned from the company.

Australia restaurant review: Going public isn’t always pretty

In more Australian weirdness, customer Branch Latroll claims he was served a cold pie and an expired iced coffee during his Sunday morning visit with his two young children to the Howard Springs Bakery in the Northern Territory.

He wrote on the bakery’s Facebook page, “Have been coming to this bakery for years. At least once a fortnight, for a Sunday morning pie and ice coffee with the fam.

“This all stops today untill [sic] I hear that the place has got its s**t together.”

The review went on to list exactly why he was disappointed by his pie and coffee.

“1. Pie wasn’t even warm,” the first point read.

“2. Tasted like it was microwaved than grilled. Had that weird raw pastry taste.

“3. My ice coffee is out of date. Today is the 3rd my ice coffee ran out on first.

“The nutella donuts scored them the second star.”

The customer commented on how cold the pie was, and that his flavoured milk was out of date.

But his review was met with hostility, when the local bakery responded and called him a “w**ker”, a “gutless troll” and a “little b**ch”.

“F***ing keyboard worrier,” the post from Howard Springs Bakery read.

“Does it make you feel like a man to post this bulls**t. Get a life you w**ker.

“Say you been going for years and have 1 bad pie and crack the sads like a little b**ch. If you weren’t satisfied, take it back for a refund or exchange instead of jumping on your phone last a right pr**k.

“Staff make mistakes, its life, it happens, get over it. Let me know where you work and I’ll have the staff member come and review you. Gutless Troll. Not nice is it.”

Reasons to love Australia: Woman charged with being in charge of a horse while under the influence of liquor

A woman has been arrested for riding a horse into a bottle shop while drunk.

The 51-year-old allegedly rode her mount through the drive-through section of a pub in Logan, Queensland (not far from Brisbane) while more than four times the legal alcohol limit.

Officers from Springwood went to a tavern on Wembley Road at 11.30pm last night after the woman refused to leave.

The female was arrested and taken to Logan Central Police Station, where she allegedly provided a positive reading of 0.226 percent (4X the legal limit).

Officers took the horse to the police station too.

She was charged with being in charge of a horse while under the influence of liquor.

She will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on June 26.

Queensland Police, said: “Police want to remind the public that drink driving does not just mean a vehicle, it can include a horse.”

That smell: Transavia ‘passenger’s body odour caused others to vomit and faint’

Keeping with the aeronautical theme, Belgian broadcaster VRT reports a passenger on a Transavia flight smelt so bad that other passengers started fainting and vomiting after the flight took off from Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport,.

Staff on board the Transavia jet reportedly tried to quarantine him in a toilet before the pilot diverted the flight.

The Boeing 737 is said to have landed in the city of Faro, in the Algarve region of southern Portugal, so the foul-smelling man could be removed from the flight.

A picture taken by one of the passengers claims to show medical personnel taking him from the plane to a bus.

Belgian passenger Piet van Haut described the stench of the man in question as “unbearable”.

He said: “It was like he hadn’t washed himself for several weeks.

“Several passengers got sick and had to puke.”

Transavia confirmed the emergency landing saying it was due to “medical reasons”.

It is not known why the man smelt so bad and what other medical issues he was suffering from.

In February, a Transavia plane from Dubai to Amsterdam was forced to make an emergency landing in the Austrian capital of Vienna after a passenger, who could not stop farting, caused a brawl between passengers.
