AC/DC unveils ‘Rock or Bust,’ announces Malcolm Young’s departure

Much respect to Malcolm Young, one of the founding members of AC/DC and a fabulous rhythm guitarist, who confirmed his retirement from the band today for health reasons, as the others embark on a new album and tour.

I’ve said it before, but will quote it again, it’s a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll (or play hockey, or even do food safety). Soundtrack of my youth.

UPDATE: Confirmed reports that Malcolm, 61, has been moved into full-time care in a nursing home facility in Sydney’s eastern suburbs specializing in dementia.

Alzheimer’s, dementia, it sucks. My grandfather had it, my grandmother took her own life because of it, back in the early 1980s. Fortunately, and through lots of hard work by people like Ken Murray in Canada, treatment facilities are way better than they were for my grandparents.
