“Y’all done started an outbreak”; Proper Restaurant salmonellosis cases rise

According to WCNC Charlotte  up to 37 patrons of Proper Restaurant in Boone, NC are now linked to an outbreak of Salmonella.

Three days after health officials in Watauga County confirmed a salmonella outbreak at a restaurant in Boone, authorities are saying they have seven confirmed cases of Salmonellosis and another 30 who are showing symptoms of the illness. None of those individuals have been hospitalized, authorities say.

The Appalachian District Health Department says the illness originated at Proper Restaurant on South Water Street.

Health Director Beth Lovette says the department is still looking into the source and the restaurant is cooperating.Screen Shot 2014-06-09 at 6.29.45 PM

Proper Restaurant’s Facebook page doesn’t make mention of the illnesses or outbreak investigation other than a single comment from June 6: “Y’all done started an outbreak.”
