From the we’ve-always-done-it-this-way-and-no-one-has-gotten-sick files, 78-year-old Doris Van Duyne Heddy Cooke of Montville, NJ, the co-owner of an apple farm and cider press that has operated since 1896, told the Times, “Some people come here specifically because it’s not pasteurized. … We have our regulars who come every year, very nice people who keep coming back. They love that our cider is made like it always was.”
